Homer - About the Greek Bard Homer

Definition: Homer is the greatest Greek poet and the traditional author of the two epic poems, the Iliad and the Odyssey. Homer is thought to have been born in the 8th century B.C. in Ionia. He is referred to as blind and since he is part of the oral tradition of poetry and story-telling, he is called a bard.
